Charles LeMar French Obit

CHARLES LeMAR FRENCH died on Dec. 18, 2021 in Eagle, ID at the home of his daughter. He was born July 27, 1934 to Charles Thomas French and Thora Hall Belnap in Roberts, ID. He was the oldest of five children. He married Marilyn Jeanette Simmons of Outing on June 2, 1954 in the Idaho Falls Temple, ID He attended Ricks College and received the Freshman All-Around Athlete of the year and the Trophy for All Around Athlete in his junior year. He graduated from the University of Minnesota with a BS in teaching. He taught school for 30 years in Backus, Brandon and Northland High in Remer. He coached basketball, football, baseball and track. He also taught Drivers Education and swimming. His favorite hobbies were hunting, fishing outdoor sports and basketball scrimmages at the Emily gym. He served as President of the Emily Cooperative Telephone Company. He and his wife parented foster children for over 33 years in Crow Wing County. He is preceded in death by his sister, Marlene Rasmussen. He is survived by his wife of 67 years; children and spouses, Dylan and Debra French, Martene and Richard Carleton, Tyler French, Michelle and Ron Despain, Jase and Carmen French, Shara and Ed Martineau, Javin and Brooke French, 30 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren; brothers Robert French, Gene French and Reynold French. On Saturday, June 25 there will be a memorial gathering for at the Emily City Hall at 1 p.m.
