Dennis "Denny" Michael Northburg Obit

DENNIS "DENNY" MICHAEL NORTHBURG, 77, of Brainerd, died June 10, 2022. He was born March 10, 1945 in Crosby and was the son of Clarence “Bud” and Irene Northburg, He grew up in Crosby and graduated from Crosby-Ironton High School. Shortly after graduating, he moved to Whitefish, MT where he met and married Kathy “Katie” McClintock, after which they moved to Brainerd. He worked over 45 years as a mechanic, most of which was for Tanner Motors in Brainerd. He loved working on and driving his Jeeps, as well as road tripping on his Harleys. Upon retiring, he volunteered riding his Harley as an Honor Guard, Patriot Guard and escorting returning soldiers home. He also enjoyed muskie fishing and teaching gun safety. He played cribbage and card games. He held Montana close to his heart because of his love for the mountains, elk hunting, dirt biking and visiting family out west. He played in several bands. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Gary Northburg. He is survived by his wife, Kathy of Brainerd; son and daughter-in-law, Craig Allen and Melissa Watson of Detroit Lakes; daughters and sons-in-law Sandra and Jason Anderson of Florence, MT and Deborah Northburg and Guillermo of Anchorage AK, nine grandchildren, two great-granddaughters and several nieces and nephews; brother Gordon Northburg of Brainerd and sister Janyce Tormanen. A Celebration of his life will be held at St. Mathias Park on Saturday, July 30. All are welcome to help celebrate. A ‘ride’ of honor is being planned to arrive at the celebration.
