GLENDA ESLINGER OBIT

GLENDA ESLINGER, 71, of Ironton, passed away with her family by her side on Sunday, April 19, 2020 at Cuyuna Regional Medical Center in Crosby.  The family will celebrate Glenda’s life with a memorial service to be held at a later date.
Glenda was born Nov. 8, 1948 in Topeka, KS, the daughter of Glenn B. and Lucille Holmes.  She was also blessed with Thelma Stangel, a mentor and friend who was a constant source of support as well as a great travel companion for Glenda.
After graduating from high school, Glenda began a career of service.  She dedicated 34 years to the patients and facility of Cuyuna Regional Medical Center.  She loved being a busy lady and never missed a chance to enjoy life.  Her unconditional love and support made her an amazing mother who never failed to keep her children’s best interest in mind.  She liked golfing, fishing, bowling, going camping, and playing Bingo. She enjoyed going to the movies and being part of a sewing club.  Glenda was a great cook and loved sharing meals with family and friends.  For 38 years, Glenda proudly remained sober and was so grateful for her AA friends.  She will be missed for her kind heart, generosity, and her ever present smile.
She was preceded in death by her parents; stepfather, Paul Deever; and sister Loretta Massey.
Glenda is survived by her husband, Denzel; children, Kim (Greg) Kayfes, Glen Stangel, and Conrad (Lisa) Stangel; step-son, Denzel Eslinger, Jr.; grandchildren, Jace Tibbetts, Andrew (Jessi) Kayfes, Megan (Aaron) Benson, Austin Stangel, Dylan Stangel, Tyler Stangel, and Shantel (Paul) Carlson; eight great-grandchildren; and sisters, Ivah Holland and Gayle Brown.  She is also survived by many dear friends and extended family members.
