Henry J. Hutchison Obit

HENRY J. HUTCHISON JR., 83, of Merrifield died on July 25, 2020, at the Cuyuna Regional Care Center in Crosby.
He was born on Oct. 28, 1936 in Detroit, MI to Henry and Amanda Priscilla Hutchison Sr.  Hutchison was a member of Salem Lutheran Church in Deerwood.  He was an avid Crosby-Ironton High School athletic fan.  He loved a good story and enjoyed fishing for walleye.
He grew up in Hopkins, graduating from Hopkins High School, class of 1954.  He attended Beloit College in Wisconsin as a medical student and then enlisted in the Army.  He served in Germany in the Medical Service Corps.  He farmed in Iowa, then returned to Minnesota in later years.
Preceding him in death are his parents Amanda Priscilla and Henry Sr., his stepmother, Glenna Hutchison and his wife Judy Ann (Sullivan).
He is survived by three sons, Jerry (Kim) Hutchison of Deerwood, Jim (Ann) Hutchison of Brainerd and Brad (Heidi) Hutchison of Merrifield; one daughter, Laura (Peter) Newton of Deerwood and 13 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
A Memorial Service will be at 1 p.m. Friday, July 31 at the Salem Lutheran Church in Deerwood.  Burial will be at the Lakewood Cemetery in Crosby.  A visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday. In lieu of flowers memorial are preferred to the donors choice. Arrangements are with the Koop Funeral Home in Crosby.
