Leverne "Vern" Dewain Stefan Obit

LEVERNE DEWAIN "VERN" STEFAN, 81 of Outing died on Aug.4, 2020 at his home.  He was born Sept. 6, 1938 in Brainerd to Milo and Myrtle (Erickson) Stefan. A graduate of the Crosby-Ironton High School and the University of Minnesota with a BS degree in chemistry.  Vern started his professional career at 3M and Sheldahl Corp. which lead to a variety of entrepreneurial endeavors, the latest being his retirement Hardware Store in Outing.
Vern will be missed for his curiosity and enthusiasm for life, a colorful personality and incredible work ethic, but more so for his love for his family.  He was the best dad ever and even greater grandpa.
Preceding Vern in death are his parents, Milo and Myrtle Stefan; sisters, Esther Jacobson, Joyce Ells and brother, Lawrence Stefan.
Vern is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Sharon; children, Scott (Peggy) Stefan, Tim (Amy) Stefan, Keri (John) Beyer, and Kelli (Paul) Kaufer; grandchildren, Tyler, Carey, Henry, Cole, Otto, Jordyn, Chet, and Gabe; great-grandchildren, Walker and Lyla; brothers, Milo, Don and Dennis Stefan; sister, Pat Trask and many nieces and nephews.
A private burial was held.  A Celebration of Life will be at a later time.  Arrangements are with the Koop Funeral Home in Crosby.
