SHIRLEY ALICE SELISKER, 90, of Crosby, passed away on Nov. 3, 2025 at the Heartwood Care Center in Crosby. She was born on June 25, 1935, in Brainerd, to Theodore and Lila LaVoie.  She graduated from Brainerd High School, class of 1953. She married her high school sweetheart, Bill Selisker, in December of 1955.   Shirley was employed at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church rectory in Crosby. While still working at the rectory, she started attending classes at Brainerd Community College, where she earned her AA degree.

DELORES JANE GRINER, 82, of Deerwood, passed away peacefully on Oct. 23, 2025, at the Heartwood Care Center in Crosby. She was born on Sept. 17, 1943 in Brainerd to William and Rose (Dobervich) Perpich.   She was a Registered Nurse, practicing at the Miners Hospital in Crosby and Cedarbrook Manor in Deerwood. Survivors include her daughters, Linnea (Tom) Hallin of Ironton and Melinda Griner of Enid, OK; her two sons, John Griner of Ironton and Michael Griner of Deerwood; one brother, Jerry (Joanne) Perpich of Park Rapids; 12 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

MARY ANDERSON KINGSLEY, 85, died from a stroke at her home in Minneapolis on Sept. 12, 2025. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, Nov. 8 at Augsburg University at Gundale Chapel in the Hagfors Center, 700 21st Avenue South in Minneapolis. Reserved parking will be in Lot G, 610 21st Ave, South, and Lot H, directly across from Lot G on 21st Avenue South. BRENDAN BROCK FLOWER, 64, passed away Oct. 22, 2025 at Wedum Hospice in Coon Rapids after years of complications from cancer. He was born Feb. 3, 1961 in Delwein, IA, to Ivan and Irene Flower. He worked many years in construction at Nor-Son. He loved helping friends with projects and loved spending time with his dog Lacy. He is survived by his fiancé Linda Flannigan of Crosby and three sisters: Mary Jean (Burdette) Anderson, Montana; Christine Dalquist, Egan Prairie and Jacqueline (William) Slattery, Crosby. He was preceded in death by his parents and one son Jobe Michael Flower.

DIANE MARIE OLDS, 80, of Outing, passed away on Oct. 25, 2025, at the Heartwood Care Center in Crosby. She was born on Dec. 24, 1944, in St. Paul to Max and Susan (Brenhofer) Skweres. She was united in marriage to Roger Olds on Jan.7, 1967, in St. Paul. She was a devoted member of St. Emily’s Catholic Church in Emily, where she worshipped faithfully for decades after she and Roger were married. Over the years, she worked as a waitress at Vern’s Café in Outing, served as a long-time clerk and fire warden for Beulah Township, and volunteered with the Emily Food Shelf.

MARTIN "MARTY" HOWARD STROM, 18, died Oct. 19, 2025. He was born to Robert and Jennifer (Oslund) Strom on June 12, 2007. He graduated from Crosby-Ironton High School in 2025. He was attending the Plumbing and HVAC program at St. Cloud Technical and Community College and worked at Godfrey Plumbing and Heating. He was an excellent athlete, excelling in football and in track and field as a shot put and discus thrower. He was also an active leader at school, serving as a Link Crew Leader and Unified Physical Education Partner.

RUTH ELAINE (RENECKER) UKURA, died Oct. 12, 2025. She was born Jan. 25, 1935 and lived most of her school years in Crosby, MN, her working life in Seattle, Washington and retirement in Florence, OR and Yuma, AZ. Living in the Crosby countryside near a lake during her school years was formative for the rest of her life. She had a deep love for nature and animals. The Renecker family moved briefly to western Oregon when she was a teenager. That gave her a life-long affinity for the ocean.

RAYMOND HOLM, 84, Mission Township, died Tuesday, Oct. 7, 2025 in Poulsbo, WA. He was born on July 10, 1941. A gathering on Saturday, Oct. 25 from 10:30 a.m. to noon at the Brenny Family Funeral Chapel in Crosslake will be held. Burial will be at the Mission Township Cemetery at 12:30 p.m. followed by a Celebration of Life Gathering held from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Mission Town Hall located at 29474 County Road 3 in Merrifield.
