New app for bus schedules

Crosby-Ironton Schools is using a new parent app, Stopfinder, for the upcoming school year. Stopfinder is the easy to use, all-in-one app that allows you to have the most accurate information about your child’s bus schedule at anytime from any location. In addition to displaying your child’s transportation information, Stopfinder features push notifications and a private messaging feature that will allow you to communicate directly with the Crosby-Ironton Transportation, Inc. the Transportation Department for Crosby-Ironton Schools.

Kindergarten Round-Up Tuesday at CRES

Parents and Kindergarten students are asked to attend Kindergarten Round-Up on Tuesday, Aug. 11 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. If you have not registered your Kindergartener, please arrive at 5:30 p.m. to register.
Meet at the grassy-area of the bus loop at Cuyuna Range Elementary School by 6 p.m. Bring a lawn chair(s) for comfort. No siblings please.

ECTC, Crosslake Communications provide internet for school students

Emily Cooperative Telephone Company and Crosslake Communications will be providing free internet service to families that currently do not have services for student online learning. Families living in the ECTC or Crosslake Communications service area will have access to internet services free of charge for two months. Families can contact our business offices below to schedule an installation.

Chamber singers sing National Anthem at U of MN

The Crosby-Ironton Chamber Singers, under the direction of Daniel Olson, were asked to sing the National Anthem at the University of Minnesota Men’s Basketball home opener last Tuesday against Cleveland State. The Golden Gophers won the contest 85-50 at Williams Arena. Pictured in the front row, left to right are: Meghan Barna, Isabella Severson, Anne Flemming, Paige Westin, Melanie Severson, Emma Stokman, Monica Stockman, Teresa Goodwin, Jasmine Siliznoff and Anna Carlson.

Voters approve C-I school referendum

Voters in the Crosby-Ironton School District approved a referendum for a bond levy and a capital projects levy on Nov. 5.
“We are thankful to voters,” said Mike Domin, chair of the Crosby-Ironton School Board. “I want to thank people for making an effort to learn more about the issues behind the referendum and for making informed votes. Our students will benefit from this investment by community members for years to come.”
The unofficial results are: 1,209 – Yes; 405 – No

Youth basketball camp at CLC

Central Lakes College is hosting a youth basketball clinic for boys and girls, grades 4-8, on Saturday Nov. 9, from 10 a.m. to noon at the Central Lakes College Gymnasium in Brainerd located at 501 W. College Drive.
Cost is $20 and includes small group instruction and individualized shot analysis with college coaches and current members Central Lakes College Raiders basketball teams. Participants will also receive a T-shirt and a game pass to a Central Lakes College home game.

Monday — Chicken nuggets, TexMex bean bake, Greek salad, Mandarin oranges, pineapple, roll and milk. (High school alternates are chef salad or yogurt parfait wrap, grab and go grades 9-12.)
Tuesday—Ham and cheese sandwich, chicken noodle soup, creamy coleslaw, peaches and milk. (High school alternates are southwest chicken salad or sunbutter and jelly sandwich, grab and go grades 9-12.)

Early dismissal Nov. 27; no school Nov. 28-29

There will be an early dismissal on Wednesday, Nov. 27 for the Thanksgiving holiday. Also no school on Thursday or Friday. School will resume on Monday, Dec. 2 at 8:25 a.m.
