AL AHO, 81 of Crosby, passed away on Aug. 13, 2026, at Abbott Northwestern Hospital of complications from surgery. Al was born in Chisholm and married Barb Stark of Crosby. He worked as a heavy equipment operator in the mines, a carpenter and a welder before retiring as an assembly mechaic in the conveyor and packaging systems industry. He enjoyed motorcycling, woodworking, fishing, reading, motorsports and visiting state parks. He especially enjoyed watching youth hockey, where his family friend Hunter goalied. He was a Navy veteran, serving on an aircraft carrier.

TAMMARA "TAMMY" JEAN (COOLEY) NOE, 64, of Ironton, passed away unexpectedly on June 15, 2026 at her home. She was born on March 2, 1962 in Onamia. She is survived by her children, Dustin Labandz, Nicole Labandz and Melissa Bates; two brothers, two sisters and her grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her mother, Carol Cooley and her father, Edward Cooley. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, Aug. 22 from 2 to 5 p.m. at the Cook Shack in Crosby Memorial Park on Serpent Lake (279 Third Avenue SW, Crosby).   Arrangements are with the Koop Funeral Home in Crosby.

MICHAEL B. RUNDE, 82, of Sun City, AZ, died July 16, 2026. He was born July 27, 1943 in Dubuque, IA, to Dorrance “D.W.” and Corella Lerimoe Runde. He married Cindy Hanson on Sept. 12, 1981 in Waterloo, IA. He graduated from Crosby-Ironton in 1961. He was an electrician for John Deere Waterloo Works retiring in 2005. He was a member of the American Legion Post #62 in Peoria, AZ. He is preceeded in death by his parents, sisters Sue Runde and Pat Tweedy.

LETTY LEE HENDERSON peacefully passed away on Aug.7, 2026, at Heartwood Senior Living in Crosby.   She was born on Sept. 8, 1944, in Pensacola, FL. She was proud to call Grand Rapids her hometown and graduated from Greenway High School, Coleraine in 1962. Preceding her in death are her parents Letty C. Prigge and Earl D. Henderson.  She is survived by several cousins, a stepbrother, and many friends through her faith.

BENNIE ROBERT BRITTON, 86, a lifelong resident of the Brainerd area, passed away peacefully at his home in Deerwood on Sunday, Aug. 16, 2026, surrounded by his family. Bennie was born on May 5, 1940, the son of Carl and Mabel (Rongnaldson) Britton. He graduated from Washington High School in Brainerd and immediately went to work. A skilled plumber, pipefitter, and welder, Bennie spent more than 40 years with Local 126. Serving his country was important to Bennie, and when duty called, he willingly served for two years with the U.S. Army in Korea.

ARNOLD "ARNIE" G. JOHNSON, 86, of Crosby, passed away on Aug. 10, 2026, at the Heartwood Care Center in Crosby. He was born in Brainerd on Sept. 7, 1939, to Herman and Lavina (Klappenbach) Johnson. He was a Minnesota National Guard veteran serving from 1956 to 1964.  He was a former Crosby Police Officer.  He was a member of the Myrin-James American Legion Post #443 of Ironton. He is survived by his son, Vint (Audrey) Gaard-Johnson of St.

DORIS JEAN LANDREE, 78, of Crosby, passed away at Heartwood Care Center in Crosby on Aug. 1, 2026. She was born on Feb. 21, 1948, in Kirwin, KS, to Jessie and Marietta (Cottrill) Westbrook.  Doris married David Landree on April 29, 1972 in Philipsburg, KS. Doris was a retired secretary for Charles Barnum Law Office in Crosby, where she was known for her dedication and kindness. Doris cherished the time she spent with her grandchildren and took great pride in watching them grow. She always enjoyed a good shopping trip and loved redecorating her home.

GEORGE RANDOLPH CARLETON, IV, of Merrifield, died Thursday, Aug. 6, 2026, at Essentia Health–St. Joseph’s Medical Center in Brainerd. George was born in Independence, MO—a town that seemed fitting for a man with a fiercely independent spirit. After graduating from Crosby-Ironton High School, he continued his education at Moorhead State University. He worked for a few years as a social worker at the Brainerd State Hospital before completing his career as an electrical inspector at Nortech. George had an adventurous spirit and loved to travel.
