LEON H. SCHEFERS, 77, passed away March 15, 2025, as a result of an automobile accident. He was born Nov. 30, 1947 in St. Cloud to Norbert and Cecilia (Maus) Schefers. He married Elizabeth Liedl April 8, 1989 in Wolverton. He was a member of the October pasty team at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Crosby and assisted with meat cutting baking of the pasties. He attended St. John’s Prep and High School and forever loved going back to St. John’s. He graduated from St.

It is with great sadness that the family of JoAnn Mary Lindroth announces her passing at her home in Savannah GA. on March 14, 2025 at age 92. Born on Dec. 28, 1932 to loving  parents Lester and Amy Thoms in Crosby,  Minnesota. JoAnn spent many wonderful years married to the love of her life Arthur D. Lindroth. She was a busy mother raising five children while supporting her husband’s naval career. JoAnn is survived by Sons Gary Lindroth (Diane) Savannah, GA, Joel Lindroth (Nok) Fernley, NV.

CLARENCE CORNELL ANDERSON, 85, passed away Monday, March 3, 2025, at Methodist Hospital in St. Louis Park. He was born Oct. 27, 1939, in Crosby, MN. Clarie graduated C-I high school in 1957 where he was class president, homecoming king, football co-captain, and on class reunion committees. Graduated from U of M with BS Metallurgical Engineering and Loyola University with MBA. Had a successful career in sales and marketing in the steel industry. Belonged to Masons-Shriners, Rotary and Elks in Detroit Lakes and was an usher and member of the Men’s Breakfast Club at church.

SCOTT "SCOTTY" EDWARD CARSTENS, 41, of Outing, Minnesota, passed away at his home on Feb. 8, 2025. He was born on June 7, 1983, to Barb and Larry Carstens. Scotty was preceded in death by his parents, Barb and Larry Carstens; his maternal grandparents, Glenn and Pat Mechelke; his paternal grandparents, Ed and Mildred Carstens; and his great-grandmother, Alice Mechelke. Scotty attended Northland Community Schools, where he was an avid athlete, participating in basketball and football. He was also a talented artist with a creative spirit.

JUDITH "JUDY" LYNN ELISEUSON, 77, of Brainerd, passed away on Feb. 2, 2025 at the Harmony House in Brainerd. Judy was born on Feb. 9, 1947 in Brainerd to Phillip and Helen (Biesner) Lustig. Judy is survived by one son, Chad (Heather) Visser of Ironton; one daughter, Lesley (Bob) Eviston of Phoenix, AZ; one sister, Clarice Bjerkness of Deerwood; six grandchildren, Jessica (Travis) Nance, Cody (Shayna) Haines, Jacob (Jackie) Visser, Morgan Visser, Liam (Sophia Ream) Eviston and Lucas Eviston and 12 great-grandchildren.

VERNON WALTER WENGEL, 95, of Little Falls and formerly of Crosby, passed away Feb. 13, 2025. He is preceded in death by his mother, Mabel Wengel, father, Alfred Wengel, 10 siblings, a step-daughter, Kathy Baumgartner, a  son Lenny Wengel and a daughter, Sandra Wengel. He is survived by his brother Paul; son, Terry (Sherry) Wengel, daughter, Kim (Mike) Mathews; multiple nephews, nieces, grandchildren and great-grandchildren; other family members and friends. A Celebration of Life has been held. Interment was held at Camp Ripley in Little Falls.

RONALD "RON" SIMON SABA, 90, of Warba formerly of Outing, passed away at his home  on March 14, 2025. He was born on Feb. 7, 1935 in St. Paul to Wolf and Sophia (George) Saba.  He was united in marriage to Marlene Langevin in St. Paul on Sept. 3, 1955. He was a retired employee of Gillette Corporation in St. Paul.  After moving to the Outing area, he became a rural mail carrier for the USPS, servicing the Outing/ Remer area for 20 years.  He was a member of St. Emily’s Catholic Church in Emily.

HERBERT "HERB" LAYTON PESKE, 83, of Ironton, passed away on Feb. 18, 2025 at his home. He was born on Sept. 19, 1941 in Waterloo, IA to August and Helen (Britzman) Peske. He farmed for many years in Raymond, IA; was a former owner of the Seguchie Resort on Mille Lacs Lake and was a long-time employee of Ruttger’s Bay Lake Lodge. Preceding him in death are his parents; his wife Patricia and one brother, Alfred Peske. He is survived by one sister, Carol Smith of Cedar Falls, IA. A Memorial Service will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, March 23 at the Bible Baptist Church in Crosby.

SHIRLEY ANN DAVIES, 89, of Crosby, passed away on March 4, 2025 at the Heartwood Care Center in Crosby. She was born on June 22, 1935 in Crosby to William and Louise (Kant) Meacham.  Shirley was united in marriage with John Davies in Aitkin on Feb.19, 1953. Shirley loved family gatherings, cooking, playing cards, fishing and traveling.  John and Shirley spent their winters in Tucson, AZ, for 32 years.
