Agnes "Kris" Kristine Johnson Obit

On Friday, July 16, 2021, Agnes “Kris” Kristine Johnson, 94, passed away at Trinity Health Care in Farmington. She was born Feb. 13, 1927 in Crosby to Fred (Stenroos) and Inga (Lysen) Johnson. She graduated High School and moved to Minneapolis where she graduated from the U of M with a degree in Library Science. She went to work at the U where she rose to a level of Assistant Professor and head of the Architectural Library. She was a long-term resident of Roseville. Her love of the Arts, Ballet, Dance, Opera and Travel filled her life. She volunteered as an usher at most of the major Twin Cities arts venues, most notably, the Ordway, Northrup Auditorium, and the Guthrie Theater. She sang in the University Woman’s Chorus for many years, and was a member of the Schubert Club, and Sons of Norway. She was always concerned for the welfare of those less fortunate than herself, and was well regarded by many, for her generous philanthropic giving. Agnes was preceded in death by her parents, brother Elmer, and nephew Scott. She is survived by her nephews Gary (Cathy) Johnson, Tom (Tanya) Johnson and niece Pattie Johnson. Agnes donated her body to U of M Anatomy Bequest program. Interment at Lakewood Cemetery, Minneapolis.
