Barbara Ellen Armstrong Obit

On Oct. 23, 2023 Barbara Ellen Armstrong, 78, died unexpectedly at her home in Ironton.
She was born in Blue Earth and graduated with a Bachelors of Science degree from the University of Minnesota - Duluth. She taught kindergarten and Head Start for many years unitl moving into the medical profession for the remainder of her career until retirement.
She was very talented and amazingly artistic and most in her element when free style painting on whatever she could express her creativity on. She loved to read, bake, hand decorate cookies, play Words with Friends and watch her favorite football team. She enjoyed going to bingo and playing cards with her sisters and anyone brave enough to join in.
Her heart overflowed with love and joy for her grandson whom she cherished beyond measure.
She traveled to many fabulous places but her favority was Kauai, HI. Flip-flops and sungalsses were big and blingy, as was her personality.
She had an incredible green thumb and plants flourished around her home. She was active in her local garden club and generous with her time, never hesitating to give a helping hand to anyone who reached out. She enjoyed making pasties at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Crosby. She was thoughtful and caring, never forgetting a birthday or anniversary and always made gift giving fun for the little ones. She was a great friend and would be there in a blink if you called. She will be dearly missed by many as her heart was as full as the life she lived.
She is preceded in death by her father, Loren and mother  Neva (Shuttleworth) Armstrong, infant brother Jimmy and sister Dawn Chamberlin.
She is survived by her daughter, Stephanie Armstrong, grandson Deklan Armstrong, sisters and brothers-in-law Kathie and Mike  Windorski, Linda and Larry Chamberlin, Pat and Mike Ellis, Bonnie Armstrong and many very loved nieces and nephews and lots of great-neices and nephews and brother-in-law Ed Chamberlin.
