Burt 'Burturde' Leslie Tasche Obit

BURT 'BURTURDE LESLIE TASCHE, 59, died in November due to health complications. He lived in Minnesota his whole life, born in Watertown  to Patricia and Roy Tasche and father of two daughters in Brainerd where he spent the remainder of his life. He was formally educated in horticulture with a focus on landscape design and architecture. He dedicated his life to his craft and touched many people along the way, even going as far as to inspire one of his daughters to go into horticulture as well. He served in the military in his younger years and was honored as a sharpshooter during his time in the service. He  was an avid outdoorsman, a responsible hunter and fisherman as well as an inspiring athlete. Burt completed many marathons and triathlons in his life, including inline marathons as well. He volunteered many winters at local fitness centers teaching classes and inspiring others to be their best self. He was happiest riding motorcycle, camping and kayaking. He was an active volunteer throughout his life. Most recently he spent his retirement helping veterans maintain their yards and homes when they were no longer in place to manage it themselves. He was an honored soldier and leader in his commitment to the landscape profession. And a beloved father, brother, and friend. Preceding him in death are his parents, Roy and Patricia Tasche. He is survived by his grandson; his daughters and sons-in-law Megan and Andrew  and Brittney and Bill; his brothers and sisters-in-law Troy and Julie and Greg and Amy; his partner Theresa and her daughter Carla; his aunt  and many nieces, nephews and cousins.   A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, May 26 at the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery in Little Falls will full military honors.   Arrangements are with the Koop Funeral Home in Crosby.
