Caleb Joseph Prushek Obit

CALEB JOSEPH PRUSHEK, 6, of Wadena,  passed away peacefully after a long battle with cancer on Friday, Aug. 15, 2025, at his home surrounded by his loving family. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends. Caleb Joseph Prushek was born on July 30, 2019, in Staples, the youngest son of Cameron and Destiny (Shivers) Prushek. Caleb loved to learn and go to preschool, making a huge impression on his teachers at the Wadena-Deer Creek Elementary School. Even on days when he wasn’t feeling well or had doctors’ appointments, he was always asking to go to school instead. Caleb was a creative soul and greatly enjoyed doing craft projects. He loved being outside, going on walks, bike rides, and gator rides. Caleb enjoyed going to amusement parks and especially going on roller coasters. His favorite colors in recent months were pinks and violets. Caleb is survived by his parents Cameron and Destiny; sister Cambria Shivers and brother Cayden Shivers; grandparents: Grant (Raylene) Prushek, and Betsy Rardin; aunts: Rochelle (Luke) Kingsley and September Prushek; great-grandparents: Joseph (Mabel) Prushek and Jeanine (Don) Hulke; the Children’s Hospital Doctors and Nurses from the seventh floor; many other relatives and a host of friends. Visitation will be held on Thursday, Aug. 28,  from 5 to 7 p.m. at Karvonen Funeral Home in Wadena. Funeral Service will be held on Friday, Aug. 29 at 10 a.m. at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church in Pequot Lakes with Pastor Monte Meyer officiating. Visitation will resume one hour prior to funeral services at church. The pallbearers are Grant Prushek, Luke Kingsley, Steve Hulke, and Nick Hamilton. Caleb will be laid to rest at the Lakewood Cemetery, Crosby. In honor of Caleb’s memory, please wear a touch of pink or violet to his services.
