Carlton Anderson services
CARLTON L. "CARLIE" ANDERSON died on Aug. 26, 2019 at the J. A. Wedum Hospice facility in Brooklyn Park, MN following a brief illness.
He was born to Mr. and Mrs. C. L. Anderson on Aug. 6, 1925 in Crosby. He graduated from Crosby-Ironton High School in 1943. Following graduation, he enlisted in the army. He trained as a navigator in the Army Air Corp and was honorably discharged in 1946 with the rank of Lieutenant. In 1947, he married Gail Lovdahl. Together they owned and operated Carlie’s Markets in Ironton and Deerwood for many years, selling the business in 1976. He was a long-time member of the Crosby-Ironton Presbyterian Church. Carlie enjoyed singing. He sang in the church choir and the North Country Men’s Barbershop group.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Gail, brothers Dean Anderson, Warren Anderson, Alvin Anderson and sister Betty Ann Mitchell.
He is survived by his brother and sister-in-law, David and Ruth Anderson; daughters and sons-in-law Sandi and Yog Hawks, April and Eric Sandhoff, son and daughter-in-law Todd and Linda Anderson, eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be held on Sunday, Sept. 29 at the Heartwood Senior Living Community Room at 1 p.m. Refreshments will be served following the service.
