Cecelia Rose Burgwald Obit

CECELIA ROSE BURGWALD, 88. of Irondale Township, passed away on Sept. 21, 2025, at the Cuyuna Regional Medical Center in Crosby. She was born on Sept. 1, 1937 in Crosby to Ernest and Mary (Grimler) Burgwald.   She was a member of the College of St. Benedict Alumni, class of 1959.  She was a retired elementary school teacher with 34 years of service to the Ely and Anoka-Hennepin School Districts.  She was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Crosby. She is survived by one brother, Tom Burgwald of Ironton; one sister, Katherine (LeRoy) LaForce of Little Falls, sister-in-law, LeAnn Burgwald of Deerwood and many nieces and nephews. Preceding Cecelia in death are her parents and one brother, Denis Burgwald. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at noon on Saturday, Sept. 27, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Crosby. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday. Burial will be at the Lakewood Cemetery in Crosby. Arrangements are with the Koop Funeral Home in Crosby.
