Celebrate the Fourth of July in Crosby!

Parade line-up will begin at 10 a.m. in front of the Ironton American Legion Saturday, July 4. Parade will begin at 11 a.m. and travel eastbound along Highway 210 through town ending near Cuyuna Regional Medical Center. Vendors will be in Crosby Memorial Park on Serpent Lake with the Fire department’s beer garden opening at 11 a.m. Following the parade in the park enjoy live music by “Zander” from 1 to 4 p.m. and the “Samuel John Band” from 5 to 8 p.m. in the John H. Pribyl Pavilion. The entertainment ends with the fantastic fireworks over Serpent at dusk. Sign-up to be in the parade-include the name of unit/business, contact person,  telephone number and an e-mail address. Description of unit (please include type, number of people, length, whether you will use music or have live animals, etc.) There is no fee to participate in the parade. Tickets are available from Crosby Volunteer Firefighters and Auxiliary Members for the Annual Fourth of July Raffle. Tickets are $1 each for a chance to win a Blackstone/Yeti Griddle Package donated by Crosby Ace Hardware; $750 in cash; or a four-hour tiny electric pontoon rental (up to four people) donated by Cuyuna Lakes Outdoors of Crosby. Winner is resonsible for any applicable fees or taxes. Need not be present to win. Must be 18 or older to purchase a ticket. Drawing held July 4 at 5:30 p.m. in Crosby Memorial Park on Serpent Lake.

The Annual Third of July Street Dance at the Spalding features “Stone Road” playing 9 p.m. to 1 a.m.   A $10—cash only—cover charge applies. An ATM is available at the gate. You must be 21 and older to attend the street dance. The Spalding is located at One West Main Street in downtown Crosby.

The 3rd Annual Hallett Freedom 5K Run/Walk at the Hallett Center of Crosby will be held on Friday, July 3 at 6 p.m. The race will be held on the paved trail next to HCC. Register for bib timed race at runsignup.com. There will be door prize raffles for participants, refreshments for racers and an awards ceremony following the race. The Fourth of July is a day filled with family activities, so start your day off with a full tummy and enjoy the Ironton Fire Department  pancake breakfast! The event is held from 7 to 10 a.m. at the Ironton American Legion located at 232 Fourth Street in Ironton, on Saturday, July 4. Proceeds for scholarships of Crosby-Ironton seniors.

The Midway Bar located at 426 Mesabi Street (State Highway 210) in Crosby offers karaoke/dj from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. on Saturday, July 4 For more information call the Midway at (218) 546-5981.

The Town Tavern in Ironton is hosting its 11th Annual Red, White and Blue Bags Tournament on Saturday, July 11 starting at 1 p.m. Bring your partner for the two-person team.
