Christine Friedrichs Obit

CHRISTINE M. FRIEDERICHS, 67, of St. Cloud died on July 23 at her home with her family at her side. She was born July 1, 1957 in Minneapolis to Eugene and Lucilla (Athmann) Williams.   After graduating from Melrose High School in 1975, she attended St. Cloud State University and graduated with a degree in education.   She married Jamie Friederichs on June 12, 1982 at St. Emily’s Catholic Church.  She then taught for many years at St. Joseph’s Catholic School in Waite Park.  Later in life she earned her Master’s Degree at the University of Notre Dame to become a School Principal at St. John’s Area School in Foley.  She achieved this goal over the course of three summers.   She exemplified the qualities of compassion, kindness and a willingness to put others before herself. A devoted Catholic, her commitment to her faith extended into her 42-year career as a Catholic Educator where she touched countless lives.  Her family, friends and all who met her will remember her for her generous spirit, her love of teaching and her enduring devotion to her family and her faith.  Though she has left this world too soon, her legacy of love and faith will continue to inspire those she leaves behind. She is preceded in death by her brother Ken Williams.   A devoted mother and loving wife, she is survived by her parents Gene and Lu, husband of 42 years Jamie, daughter Maria (Greg) Stiltner, sons Mark and Keith, three step-grandchildren, brother John (Lori) Williams and sister Georgette (Mark) Steeves as well as other relatives and friends. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to St. John’s Area School in Foley. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 24 at St. Emily’s Catholic Church in Emily. Reverend Joseph Backowski will preside.   Private burial will take place at a later date.   Visitation will take place one hour prior to the Mass at the church on Saturday.
