David L. Olson Obit

DAVID L. OLSON, 80, of Bay Lake Township, died at his home on October 1, 2019. He was born on Feb. 25, 1939 in Minneapolis to Leonard and Gulia (Magnolo) Olson.  He married Annette Olsen on July 11, 1959 in Minneapolis.  
Because of his compassion for others and experience he opened Total Medical Supply in 1994; selling and retiring in 2004. With a passion for hockey, he started skating at a young age, playing through high school. He continued to play on a “old timers league”, then went on to become assistant coach at Columbia Heights High School. He continued to skate every year until age 75. He was an avid golfer and sang with the Country Gentlemen in Tucson, AZ.
Preceding him in death are his parents.
He is survived by his wife, Annette; daughter and son-in-law, Kristine and Mervin  Bjork of Zimmerman; son and daughter-in-law, David and Cheryl Olson, Jr. of Crosslake; brothers and sisters-in-law, Gerald and Judy Olson of Scandia and Leonard and Karen Olson of Columbia Heights; sister, Julie Howell of Pensacola, FL; 11 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:30 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 19 at the Salem Lutheran Church in Deerwood.  Burial will be at the Bay Lake Township Cemetery.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday.  
Arrangements are with the Koop Funeral Home in Crosby.
