Diann M. Bates Celebration of Life

DIANN M. BATES, 74, passed peacefully in her sleep on Feb. 6, 2024. She was the wife of Carl Bates. They shared 52 years of marriage. Born in Forest Lake, she was the daughter of William O. Pigman and Evelyn Flora (Guertin) Pigman. She graduated from White Bear High School and became a Certified Nursing Assistant. She worked at several locations including Cuyuna Regional Medical Center (CRMC) in Crosby. Diann also received credits toward a medical transcriber degree. Diann was a member of the Patriot Guard for many years. She was a 22-year member of the Deerwood and Aitkin Lions Clubs; a National Weather Service Skywarn observer; a blood donor and helped raise monies for local college scholarships. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, reading, puzzles and board games. She is predeceased by both of her parents; three brothers (Gary, Ronnie and Greg) and both of her sisters (Sandra and Violet). She is survived by her husband Carl Bates; their two daughters: Toya (Ryan) Fish of Zimmerman and Tracy (Victor) Bell of Anoka and loved all seven of her grandchildren. The Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, April 6 at 11 a.m. with a visitation starting one hour prior at the Brenny Family Funeral Chapel, 7348 Excelsior Road, Baxter. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Brenny Family Funeral Chapel, Baxter.
