Doris Jean Landree Obit

DORIS JEAN LANDREE, 78, of Crosby, passed away at Heartwood Care Center in Crosby on Aug. 1, 2026. She was born on Feb. 21, 1948, in Kirwin, KS, to Jessie and Marietta (Cottrill) Westbrook. Doris married David Landree on April 29, 1972 in Philipsburg, KS. Doris was a retired secretary for Charles Barnum Law Office in Crosby, where she was known for her dedication and kindness. Doris cherished the time she spent with her grandchildren and took great pride in watching them grow. She always enjoyed a good shopping trip and loved redecorating her home. Her home was a reflection of who she was—clean, organized, and always just the way she liked it. Those who knew Doris, knew she had an eye for detail and was known for having everything “just right.” Doris is survived by her son, Jay Landree of Deerwood; granddaughters, Ahreanna (Brandon) Anderson and Katelyn Landree; one great-granddaughter, Jolie Anderson; two sisters, Kaye (Perk) Perkins of Denver, CO and Pat (John) Elliott of Ozark, MO; six sisters-in-law, Rose (Phil) Hinrichs, Mary (David) King, Ruth (Mike) Zauhar, Jane (Terry) Dunsworth, Lucy (Dan) Lueck, Lois (Steve) Zauhar and one brother-in-law, Mark (Eldora) Landree. Preceding Doris in death are her parents; her husband, David; one son, Chad Landree; one brother, Kerry Westbrook and one sister, Jill Schierling. A Memorial Gathering will be held on Friday, Aug. 14, at the Koop Funeral Home in Crosby from 3 to 5 p.m with burial to follow at the Lakewood Cemetery in Crosby. A gathering will also take place at the Taconite following the burial. Arrangements are with the Koop Funeral Home in Crosby.
