Dorthy Anne (Thoms) LaVictoire Obit

DORTHY ANNE (THOMS) LaVICTOIRE, 92, of Des Moines, WA, passed away Oct. 29, 2002. Dorthy was born Aug. 24, 1930 to Lauren and Bernice Thoms of Crosby, the third of their 12 children and the oldest girl.  She graduated from Crosby-Ironton High School in 1948, then married John LaVictoire of Crosby Sept. 2, 1951.  Soon after, they moved to Washington where they raised their family and spent the rest of their lives in the greater Seattle area. She lived with her son Doug and his wife Sheila for the last 12 years of her life. They gave Dorthy a wonderful home and took such good care of her right to the end. She was so fortunate to have such a loving and caring son and daughter-in-law. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, infant daughter Mary, her in-laws Herb and Esther LaVictoire, five brothers and three sisters. She is survived by daughter Kathryn (Andy) Milburn, son John “Doug” (Sheila) LaVictoire; granddaughters Jessica (Dave) Nick, Charlotte (Paris Gronberg) LaVictoire, Elizabeth (Christina Withey) Milburn and Emily Milburn; great-grandchildren Rosy and Royce Nick and Maple and Rowan Gronberg; sisters Bonnie Misner, Suzanne (Doug) Tscheu, Clarice (Butch) James; close friend Ken Lentz, and many nieces and nephews. A private family graveside service was held Nov. 8, 2022 in Puyallup, WA.
