Howard M. Dutton Obit

HOWARD M. DUTTON, 88, of Outing, died on Dec. 26, 2020 at the Cuyuna Regional Medical Center in Crosby. He was born on June 18, 1932 in Regent, ND to Harold and Mabel (Ehleringer) Dutton. He married Barbara Fehr on Aug. 7, 1954 in Outing. He was the owner and operator of the Washburn Point Lodge on Washburn Lake (aka Fehr’s Resort). He served as the local fire warden and local township assessor with Cass County and was a former forman of the United Wild Rice Processing Co. in Outing.
Preceding him in death are his parents; his wife, Barbara; and three sisters, Florence Kolb, Jennie Collins and Donna Kolb.
Howard is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law: Howard Wade and Holly Dutton of Detroit Lakes; Brett and Kristi Dutton of Baxter and Shawn and Jan Dutton of St. Michael; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be 1 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 2 at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Outing. Burial will be at the Pine Ridge Cemetery in Emily with full military honors by the Myrin-James American Legion Post #443. A visitation will be one hour prior to the service on Saturday.
