James Ryan Anderson Obit

JAMES RYAN ANDERSON, 34, of Crosby,  passed away on Sept. 19, 2025. He was born on Dec. 19, 1990, in Glendive, MT, to Edward Anderson and Jennifer Ulrich. James was an avid Minnesota Vikings fan who rarely missed a game and cheered on his team with unmatched passion. He was equally devoted to coaching, pouring his heart into football and baseball, though football always held the biggest piece of his heart. Beyond the field, James lived for his family—his wife, Brandi, and his children, who were truly his world. Known for his sharp wit and endless humor, James was the light of every room he entered. He was sarcastic, funny, and a “horribly funny” jokester who loved to prank those closest to him—pranking was his love language. His laughter and playful spirit touched everyone he met, and he had a special way of building others up with encouragement and love. James treasured time with his children, whether golfing with his son Donnie or sharing his love for football with his son Harrison, lovingly called “Harry.” His role as a husband, father, coach, and friend will never be forgotten. He is survived by his wife, Brandi Larson; his three children, Isabella, Donald, and Harrison; his parents, Jenny and Gary Koering, and Edward and Loren Anderson; his siblings, Dustin and Kayla Koering, and McKenzie Anderson; his grandparents, Sherry (Del) Schulte, Norman and JoAnn Ulrich, Joyce Anderson, and Leonard and Carleen Koering; and his best friends, Zach Curtis and Ashley Mancillas. He also leaves behind countless other family members and friends who loved him dearly. James was preceded in death by his grandfathers, John Anderson and Doug Hendrickson; his uncle, Scott Ulrich; his aunt, Lori Herbaugh; and his uncle, Donnie Reed. Funeral services will be held at Nelson-Doran Funeral Home on Saturday, Sept. 27, at 2 p.m., with visitation beginning at 1 p.m. A luncheon will follow. Arrangements are with Nelson-Doran Funeral Home in Brainerd.
