Joanne Mae Stanfield Obit

JOANNE MAE STANFIELD, 87, passed away on Sept. 7, 2022 at Heartwood Senior Living Community in Crosby. She was born to Frank and Pearl Frazer on Oct. 28, 1934 in Duluth. She was united in marriage to Robert Stanfield on Feb. 28, 1952. After raising her six children, she worked at Cuyuna Regional Medical Center in the Dietary Department for many years. She later obtained her Certified Nursing Assistant certification and worked at both Hallett Cottages and Heartwood in Crosby. She was well known throughout the community for her caramel rolls, cinnamon bread, bulgar wheat bread and her famous banana bread which she shared with nearly everyone she met. Her life revolved around family activities and celebrations. She also enjoyed watching and feeding birds. Cardinals were her favorite as they inspired treasured memories of departed loved ones. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert of 57 years; sisters, Connie McDonough and Bonnie Kempffer. She is survived by her sister, Mildred Frazer; children and spouses, Cheryl and Woody Rothwell, Randy and Amy Stanfield, Cindy and Brad Klein, Kevin and Nancy Stanfield, Brenda and Tom McNeill and Scott and Tammy Stanfield; 16 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren. A private family service will be held at a later date. Arrangements are with Koop Funeral Home of Crosby.
