Juneal Pecarich Obit

JUNEAL PECARICH, 93, passed away peacefully on July 10, 2021 at Mercy Hospital in Coon Rapids. She was born to Victor and Suzanne Dahl on Feb. 12, 1928.  She was raised solely by her mother Suzanne, as her father abandoned them and three sisters during the Great Depression.  She lived in Staples as a young girl and later moved to Brainerd as a teenager.  She married Matt Pecarich on May 18, 1946.  They lived in Crosby-Ironton and were married for 59 years until his passing. She was a wonderful cook.  Even though she was of the Norwegian heritage, she mastered all the Croatian recipes and was well known for her potica far and wide, from Toronto, Canada to California. She is preceded in death by her husband Matt; her mother, Suzanne; and three sisters, Jackie, Joan and Jeanne. She is survived by her three children and their spouses, John and Paula Pecarich of Brainerd, Juneal “Cis” Ransdell of Baxter, and Joan and Don Rud of Greenfield; eight grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and one great- great-grandchild. A Celebration of her life will be at the Koop Funeral Home in Crosby on Thursday, July 15 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. with sharing of memories at 12:30 p.m.  A reception will follow at the Myrin-James American Legion Post #443 in Ironton.
