Katherine "Kathie" Emma Olander Obit

Katherine Emma “Kathie” Olander, 90, of Crosby, died on Nov. 19, 2021 at the Cuyuna Regional Care Center in Crosby.  She was born in Deerwood Township on April 11, 1931 to Stanley and Aimar (Ford) Splettstoeszer.   Katie was a retired Activity Director at the Cuyuna Regional Medical Center in Crosby.  She was a member at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Crosby and loved to quilt at church and with the Loon Crafters, was a former Girl Scout and Boy Scout Leader and a volunteer at the Soup Kitchen in Brainerd. Preceding Katie in death are her parents, one grandson, Andrew Phillip Olander and two brothers,  Erick and Robert Splettstoeszer. Katie is survived by three sons and daughters- in-law, James “Michael” Olander of Texas, David and Bevie Olander  of  Tacoma, WA and Richard and Brenda Olander of Scottsboro, AL; one daughter and son-in-law, Carol and Larry Wedll of New Hope; three sisters and brothers-in-law, M. Louise and Lew Forsmark of Bloomington, Mary and Arvin Packer of Park Rapids and Betty and Lester Shankle of South Bend, IN and 13 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Crosby. Burial at Lakewood Cemetery in Crosby.  A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church.   Arrangements are with the Koop Funeral Home in Crosby.
