Lee Warren Uglem obit

LEE WARREN UGLEM, 70, passed away Oct. 8, 2023, at home surrounded by his family, after a lengthy battle with advanced prostate cancer.
He was born and raised in Robbinsdale, moving to Deerwood at age of four with his parents, Eugene and Dorothy Uglem.
He served in the U.S. Navy and sold real estate with his dad at Uglem Realty. He worked as a clerk/carrier for the United States Postal Service in Brainerd for over 30 years. He married Ellen Guy on Sept. 30, 1978 in Big Sky, MT. His pride and joy were his daughters, Kelly and Sarah, and his four grandchildren. He loved to hunt ducks, geese and deer, and he loved all kinds of fishing. He founded the Cuyuna Range Ducks Unlimited Chapter in the early 1980’s. He was a terrific golfer, and a life-long member of Cuyuna Country Club/Cuyuna Rolling Hills Golf Course. He served as president of the Serpent Lake Association and worked diligently to improve the water quality of the lake and maintain the lake’s buoys.
He is survived by his wife, Ellen; daughters Kelly (Neal) Erickson; Sarah (Aaron) Jax; grandchildren Kate and Evan Jax, Lewis and Miles Erickson; brothers Dean (Jean) Uglem, Deerwood, and Wayne Uglem, Sheboygan, WI.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Gene and Dorothy, brothers Roger and Steve, and sister-in-law, Linda Uglem.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 28, 2023, at the Salem Lutheran Church in Deerwood.
Visitation will be Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. at Koop Funeral Home in Crosby and one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the church.
Burial will be at the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery in Little Falls at later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Serpent Lake Association.
Arrangements are with the Koop Funeral Home in Crosby.
