Linnea M. Jelen Obit

LINNEA M. JELEN, 77, of St. Joseph, formerly of Crosby, died on Dec. 22, 2020 at the St. Cloud Hospital.  She was born on April 21, 1943 in Biloxi, MS to Henry and Elsie (Carlson) Schwall. She  married Ronald Jelen on Jan. 27, 1979 in Crosby.  She was a longtime local child care provider; a former Human Services Technician at the Brainerd State Hospital; a longtime Activities Director at the Dellwood Apartments in Crosby and a former member of the C-I Garden Club.
Preceding her in death are her parents; her husband Ronald in 2014; step-father, Gene Mount and a brother, Ed Mount.  
She is survived by two sons, Chad Jelen of Crosby; Aaron Jelen of New York Mills; two daughters and a son-in-law Jessica and Matthew Lelou of St. Joseph and Amy Jelen of Brainerd; her step-mother, Kathleen Mount of Brainerd; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Georgene and Dennis Molesky of Crosby and Marlene and Bill Dean of Rogers; two step-brothers and sisters-in-law, Leon and Cathy Witter of Hutchinson and Mark and Roni Witter of Cambridge and two grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 5 at the Life Spring Church in Crosby.  Burial will be at the Lakewood Cemetery in Crosby.  A visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.  
Arrangements are with the Koop Funeral Home in Crosby.
