Lucile M. Cyr Obit

LUCILE M. CYR, age 92, of Clyde, passed away at home on Thursday, Aug. 8, 2019. She was born Oct. 31, 1926 in Emily, Minnesota, to Glen and Myrtle (Chenevert) Hite, the second youngest of five children.
She married Virgil G. Cyr on July 16, 1927. They first made their home in Miltonvale, then later in Clyde.
Lucile was well-grounded in the fundamentals of the Christian faith and regularly attended services at the Miltonvale Wesleyan Church. For those knowledgeable about her past, this was her spiritual home even though she regularly attended services and events in other churches around Clyde. In August 1939, she participated in the founding the Wesleyan church in Emily, Minnesota, and was the last survivor of all those who attended that event eighty years ago. At age 15 she left home and came to Kansas to attend Miltonvale Wesleyan Academy where she graduated in 1945. She then went on to enroll in the Miltonvale Wesleyan College where she pursued her interest in literature and music up until the time of her marriage.
Lucile was preceded in death by her husband, Virgil; parents Glen and Myrtle Hite; and four siblings, Dorothy Ratcliffe, Glen Hite, Jr., Lois Fletcher and Ellis Hite.
Survivors include her son, John (Connie) Cyr; daughter, Vicki Katz; Five grandchildren, Craig (Melissa) Finlayson, Broc (Kelsey) Finlayson, Michelle (Paul) Reinhardt, Jennifer (Ryan) Crawford, and Dustin Noble; three step-grandchildren, Kelly Amerine, Teryl (Joseph) Snodgrass, and Kristin (Chris) Ruder and seventeen great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be at Chaput Mortuary, Clyde, on Thursday, Aug. 14, 2019 from 1 to 8 pm with family greeting from 5 to 6 pm.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m., Thursday, Aug. 15, 2019 at the Miltonvale Wesleyan Church with Pastor Dan Dennison officiating. Burial will follow at Mount Home Cemetery, Clyde.
