Mark Edward Sandberg Obit

MARK EDWARD SANDBERG died at home Friday, Dec. 6 from complications from ALS.
He joined the U.S. Army in 1983 where he served for 21 years, retiring in 2004 as a SFC.
He then started a new career path with Intercity Transit where he worked 14 years and retired as Operations Manager in 2018.
His joys in life were his family, serving his country and community. His greatest hobbies were camping, boating, fishing, traveling, football, a good BBQ and a cold beer. He will be missed beyond words.
Born the youngest of four on July 20, 1963, in San Diego, CA, he moved to Minnesota at age 11. He attended Crosby-Ironton High School and graduated in 1982.
He was preceded in death by his father, Benny Sandberg, and an uncle.
He leaves behind his mother Ramona (Lentz) Sandberg; his wife Tina Sandberg; his children Benny, Nevaeh, Svenja and Ren; two grandchildren; siblings Steven, Tamela and James and their spouses ; nieces and nephews; grandnieces and grandnephews; and aunts, uncles and cousins.  
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests  donations be made toward the funeral expenses at WSECU, account #7179762. Any remaining funds in the funeral account after expenses will be donated to the ALS Association in his name.
Services will be held locally. Services will be also be held in Tumwater, WA on Friday, Dec. 27 at Mills & Mills Funeral Home. Service will begin at 11 a,m, with a graveside service to follow at 3 p.m. at Tahoma National cemetery in Kent, WA.
The family also would like to invite family and friends to join them on Saturday, Dec, 28 from noon until 6 p.m. at Hallen Hall to enjoy BBQ and a nice cold beer.
