Marleys Jean (Shafer) Hicks Obit

MARLEYS JEAN (SHAFER) HICKS, 83, of Ironton, died on Dec. 9, 2023 at the Cuyuna Regional Medical Center in Crosby.  She was born in Crosby on July 8, 1940 to Victor and Charline (Johnson) Oreskovich. Preceding her in death are her parents; first husband, Richard Shafer; second husband, David Hicks  and one brother, Richard “Chuck” Oreskovich. She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Steve and  Jodi Shafer of Lakeville and Rick and Terri Shafer of Crosby; one daughter and son-in-law, Nikki and Kevin Wassen of Crosby; two step-sons and daughter-in-law, David and Ann Hicks of Minnetonka and Rick Hicks of Apple Valley; step-daughter, Robyn Wagner of Maple Grove;  two brothers, Kim Oreskovich of Trommald and Victor “Keith” Oreskovich of Aitkin; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Judith and David Karnowski of New Brighton, Mardell Blom of Crosby and Sandra (John Freeman) of Deerwood; 17 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be noon on Thursday, Dec. 21, 2023 at the Koop Funeral Home in Crosby. Burial will be at the Lakewood Cemetery in Crosby.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Thursday.
