Michael Elwood Butchite Obit

MICHAEL ELWOOD BUCHITE, 77, of Whiting, IA, passed away on Saturday, Nov. 13, 2021 at Elmwood Care Centre in Onawa, IA. He was the son of Hugh and Lil (Chenevert) Buchite and was born Feb. 26, 1944 in Crosby.  He grew up in the Fifty Lakes  area and he attended high school in Pine River.  For most of his working years, he was a truck driver. He was united in marriage to Joyce Janssen and three daughters were born to this union.  They later divorced. Throughout the years, he enjoyed fishing, sightseeing, riding his motorcycle and tinkering in his shop. He was preceded in death by his parents; former wife, Joyce; and five siblings: Hugh Jr., Alred, Morris, Willard and Ronnie. He is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law: Sandy and Rex Muggli,  Michelle and Scott Sjolund and Teffany and Vern Lewis; nine grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; four siblings and their spouses: Harvey and Arlene, Allan and Carol , Ardith and Ben and Neal; and many nieces and nephews. Cremation will take place and no services are planned.
