Patricia "Pat" A. Genz Obit

PATRICIA "PAT" A. GENZ, 76, of Emily,   passed away peacefully on April 18, 2023 at Riverwood Hospital in Aitkin.   Pat was born June 20, 1946 in St. Paul to Anton and Elizabeth (Steichen) Fendrick.  She attended St. Stanislaus School in St. Paul until 1961 and then graduated from North St. Paul High School in 1963.  After high school she worked at St. Paul Companies until she met the future love of her life.  On Aug. 30, 1974, she married Gene Genz in St. Paul. They bought their first house in Crosby and moved to Emily in 1975, where they spent the remainder of their lives.   Pat was a loving mother, wife, sister and friend.  She enjoyed cooking with Gene for family gatherings and for the Emily Volunteer Fire Department.  Pat was known for her deviled eggs and horseradish pickles, she liked to bake cookies and she loved to dance.  However, her greatest pride and joy in life was certainly her grandchildren. Pat was preceded in death by her parents, Elizabeth “Betty” King and Anton Fendrick; her husband, Gene and her brother, William Fendrick. Pat is survived by her two sons and daughters-in-law, Chad and Kami Genz and Craig and Mindi Genz; four grandchildren, Charlee and Cooper, Hope and Aric; brother, Jim Fendrick; sister and brother-in-law Gayle (Fendrick)   Stewart; her lifelong best friend, Joann Cordie  and many friends and extended family members. A celebration of life for friends and family will be held on Saturday, June 10 from noon to 3 p.m. at the park behind the Emily Fire Hall.   Arrangements are through Koop Funeral Home of Crosby.
