Phyllis J. Martin Obit

PHYLLIS J. MARTIN, 87, of North Oaks, formerly of Crosby, died on Oct. 4, 2020 at the Waverly Gardens Presbyterian Home in North Oaks.  She was born on March 12, 1933 in Crosby to Lyman and Dora (Wilmot) Hardy. She married Chester G. “Chet” Martin on March 20, 1954 in Minneapolis.   She was a retired teacher with the Crosby-Ironton School District.  She was an active member of the Crosby-Ironton Presbyterian Church and was currently attending the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Crosby.  She was an active volunteer and staff at the Jessie F. Hallett Memorial Library in Crosby and was a member of the Serbian Sisters.
Preceding her in death are her parents; her husband, Chet, in 2018 and one brother, Howard Hardy.
She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Jay and Jean Martin of Shoreview and Thomas Martin and Jeanne Ullevig of Ham Lake; three daughters and sons-in-law, Mary Ann and Joseph Porwoll of Colgate, WI, Carol and Pete Midthun and Jane and Joseph Pribyl all of Shoreview; one brother, George Hardy of St. Cloud and one sister, Judy McKanna of Crosby; seven grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
A Memorial service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 17 at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Crosby. Burial will be at the Lakewood Cemetery in Crosby.  A visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday.  
Arrangements are with the Koop Funeral Home in Crosby.
