Richard "Dick" Harrison Obit

RICHARD "DICK" HARRISON, 90, died Tuesday, Jan. 2, 2024, at his home in Crosby. He was born on April 24, 1933 in Crosby to Eugene and Delina (Bellefeuille) Harrison. He married Eileen Marie Bodin on Sept. 20, 1952 in Virginia, MN. A life-long resident of Crosby, Richard was a talented mechanic, inventor and real estate developer. He co-founded Trail-A-Sled, Inc. (Scorpion Snowmobiles) in 1959. Following Scorpion, Richard pursued an expansive land development career in central Minnesota. An avid outdoorsman, hunting, fishing and tinkering were just a few of his many passions. An icon of the snowmobile industry, Richard was inducted into the International Snowmobile Hall of Fame in 2003. Together with his family, he was a tireless supporter of the sport. Known for his practical wisdom, wit, charitable work and love of family, Richard was a man of integrity and abiding faith in Christ. He will be desperately missed by friends and family. Preceeded in death by wife of 67 years Eileen, in 2019; parents Eugene and Delina (Bellefeuille) Harrison; and grandson Calvin Leonard. Survivors include son Steven (Martha) of Baxter, daughter Debra of Ironton and son Randy (Starr) of Maple Grove; as well as seven grandchildren, Molly (Michael) Blowers, Dan (Autumn) Harrison, Brieanna (Michael) Groves, Brandon (Jenna) Harrison, Lee (Britt) Piirainen, Jordon (Ashton) Harrison, Mariah (Perry) Smith; 24 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 13, 2024 at the Heritage Church in Baxter. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday. A celebration of life will follow immediately in the onsite reception area. Burial will be at 1 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 14 at the Lakewood Cemetery in Crosby. Arrangements are with the Koop Funeral Home of Crosby.
