Richard "Rick" W. Stangel Obit

RICHARD "RICK" W. STANGEL, 75, of Emily, died at his home on Feb. 25, 2020.  He was born on June 1, 1944 in Brainerd to Darrel and Norma (Wolford) Stangel.  He married Maryetta Fletcher on July 1, 1966 in Emily.  He was an employee of Emily Greens Golf Club.  He loved the outdoors, camping, fishing and hunting.
Preceding him in death are his parents; two brothers, Gary and Darrel Jr. Stangel and two sisters, Faye Burke and Joann Evenson.
He is survived by his wife, Maryetta; two sons, Don Stangel of Emily and Barry Stangel of Crosslake; one daughter, Tresa Stangel of Fairbanks, AK; one brother and sister-in-law, Gene and Janice Stangel of Crosby and sister and brother-in-law, Carol and Kenny Helmers of Tipton, MO; seven grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
A Memorial Gathering will be held at the Myrin-James American Legion Post in Ironton on Saturday, March 7 from 2 to 5 p.m.  Military honors will be presented at 4:30 p.m.
