Sally Lukens Mann Obit

SALLY LUKEN S MANN March 26, 1930 to March 10, 2024 Sally was born to Ruth (Heald) and Paul Lukens in Hibbing. She graduated from Hibbing High School and then attended Cornell College in Mt. Vernon, IA. While taking off a semester in her junior year, she met Richard (Dick) Mann at church in Hibbing. They were engaged in six weeks and married in six months. They lived where Dick's mining engineering career took them: Crosby, Hibbing and Cleveland, OH. After Dick retired in 1983, they moved back to Minnesota and built a home on Rabbit Lake (near Crosby). They lived in Minnesota until 2021 when they moved to Cleveland to be near family. Sally's life was surrounded by music. She was been involved in church music for 80 years: singing in the choir, playing piano, guitar, organ and keyboard and/or being worship director. She often sang at the Care Center and at different organizations she belonged to. She enjoyed membership in Friday Study Club and Women's Club. Sally was an unusual person. She lived with an "open hand", using her time, intelligence, gifts, abilities, finances and talents well to bless others. She was "comfortable in her own skin" and never compared herself to others. She never gossiped or said unkind things about anyone. She lived as if life and faith mattered and knew that we are all eternal beings having a temporary, physical experience. Her life was blessed by God in many ways: a Godly husband, God-fearing children and grandchildren, other loving family members, many dear friends and church brothers and sisters who have all been enriched by her life. Sally is survived by her husband of 72 years, Richard Mann; five children: David (Judy) of South Carolina; Ruth (Andrew) of Ohio; Randolph (Debbie) of Ohio; Alan (Mary) of Pennsylvania and Luke (Dawn) of Italy; 11 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; two sisters (Alice and Joanna) and two brothers (Paul and Sam). There will be a Celebration of Life at Trinity Church in Mentor OH on March 23 at 11:30 a.m. Memorials to Gideons or a music ministry of your choice.
