Douglas A. Christensen Obit

DOUGLAS A. CHRISTENSEN,

78, of Deerwood, died on Sept. 9, 2020 at the Cuyuna Regional Care Center in Crosby.
He was born in Crosby on Nov. 25, 1941 to Chester and Alyce (Duzan) Christensen. Doug married Judith Ann Johnson on May 20, 1967 in Crosby.  Doug was a retired Deputy Sheriff and Dispatcher with the Crow Wing County Sheriff’s office with 32 years of service. He was a member of the Minnesota Police and Peace Officers Association and was a Deerwood Fireman with 17 years of service, serving as assistant chief at the time of retirement.
Doug is survived by his wife Judy; one daughter, Diane (Pete Scherf) Christensen of Cohasset; three brothers, Ronald (Mary Lee) Christensen, John (Sharon) Christensen all of Deerwood and Dave Christensen of New Iberia, LA; three sisters, Dee (Lester) Chileen, Lois Bayliss all of Crosby and Pauline (Roger) Johnson of Sartell; two grandchildren, Ashley (Matt) Landrus of Deerwood and Taylor Venne of Ironton; two great-grandchildren, River and Remi Landrus.
Preceding Doug in death are his parents; two brothers, Harvey and Bill Christensen and two sisters, Linda Christen and Betty Stirewalt.
Services have been held.
Burial was at the Scandia Cemetery in Deerwood.
