Dale C. Monson Obit

DALE C. MONSON, 98, of Irondale Township, died on Nov. 21, 2020 at his home.  He was born on Sept. 3, 1922 in Riverton to Ole and Minnie (Anderson) Monson.  He was a WWII Navy veteran.  He married Marjorie Holsapple on July 16, 1940 in Brainerd.  He was a retired employee with Burlington Northern in Brainerd.  He was a member of the Myrin-James American Legion Post #443, Ironton and attended the Bible Baptist Church in Crosby.  Dale was an avid outdoors man, together with his wife harvested wildrice right up till he was 90 years old and was very passionate about hunting, fishing and trapping.
Preceding him in death are his parents; his wife, Marjorie; one son, Shayne Monson; five brothers and four sisters; and four grandchildren.
He is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Brad and Mary Monson of Brainerd and Barry and Marge Monson of Maple Lake; eight daughters and sons-in-law, Karen Hines of Brainerd; Lorna and Harry  Hurst of Mohave Valley, AZ; Dayle and Edwin Meagher of Humansville, MO; Sandra Willman of Topeka, KS;  Brenda Wheeler of Palmdale, CA; Cheryle and Michael  Thiesen of Prior Lake; Shelley and Jim Lundgren of Ironton and Sherree and Michael Voss of Buffalo; 33  grandchildren, 76 great-grandchildren and 27 great-great-grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Friday, Dec. 4 at the Bible Baptist Church in Crosby.  Burial will be at the Lakewood Cemetery in Crosby with military honors by the Myrin-James American Legion Post #443.  A visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday.  The service will be live streamed on Crosby Bible Baptist Church Facebook page.
