Frances Butorac Vidmar Obit

FRANCES BUTORAC VIDMAR, 101, of Crosby, died at the Cuyuna Regional Medical Center in Crosby.  She was born in Crosby on Dec. 31, 1919 to Marko and Ana (Adam) Butorac. In her younger years she was employed with the Crosby Hardware and Furniture with 30 years of service. She was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Crosby, the National Order of Catholic Foresters, the Slovenian Ladies Union of American, the Serbian Sisters, the Crosby-Ironton Garden Club, the Cuyuna Range Women’s Club, the Brainerd VFW and the Myrin-James American Legion Post #443, Ironton.  She was a very talented seamstress, making clothing for her family and others in the community. She also was an avid golfer and bowler, participating on several area leagues. Preceding her in death are her parents, her husband Joseph in 1990; one son, Joseph “Mike” Vidmar in 2020; three brothers, Frank, Joe and Matt Butorac and four sisters, Martha Miller, Mary Domencich, Margaret Harrison and Elsie Skoff. She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, John and Cathy Vidmar of Buffalo; two daughters, Judith Feddick of Marshfield, WI and Patricia Lasher of Crosby; one sister, Elizabeth Formanek of Henning; 14 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 20 at the Koop Funeral Home in Crosby. Burial will be at the Lakewood Cemetery in Crosby.  A visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Wednesday.
