Mary Jane H. Olson Obit

Mary Jane H. Olson, 93, of Crosby, died on Oct. 19, 2021 at the Cuyuna Regional Care Center in Crosby.  She was born on Jan. 4, 1928 in Iona to William and Odelia (Miller) Hermeling.  Mary Jane married Donald Gordon Olson on Sept. 17, 1949.  She was a member of the Salem Lutheran Church in Deerwood. Preceding Mary Jane in death are her parents; her husband of 60 years, Donald; two brothers, Joe and Jerome Hermeling; and six sisters, Fidelis Hoffman, Alice Fehring, May Johnson, Ivona Risacher, Lola Voss and Betty Haar. Mary Jane is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Allan and Mary Ellen Olson of Maple Grove; two daughters and sons-in-law, Peggy and Nory Hunze of Crosby and Jane and Bob Riley of Pillager; two brothers and sister-in-law, Bill and Shirley Hermeling of Minnetonka and Larry Hermeling of Fulda; one sister, Donna Kremer of Fulda; six grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. A Memorial service will be 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 9 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Lakeville.  Burial will be at Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis in the spring.  A visitation will be one hour prior to the services at the church on Thursday.   Her service will be live streamed.   Masks are required at the service.
