James Robert Marr Obit

JAMES ROBERT MARR, 76, of Crosby, died on Dec. 15, 2021 at the Cuyuna Regional Medical Center in Crosby. He was born on Nov. 4, 1945 in Freeport, IL to Albert and Anna (Meyer) Marr. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran serving in the 8th Air Force during Vietnam. He married Janet Widmer in Highland, IL on June 11, 1971. He graduated from the University of Whitewater with a Bachelors of Business Administration. Formerly living in the Loretto and Delano areas, he was a retired Insurance Broker, employed from 1972 until 2016. His most recent employment was with Center Insurance in Wayzata, retiring from the Christensen Insurance Group in Eden Prairie. He was a member of the Crosslake Lutheran Church and the Crosslake American Legion. He is a former board member with RCCC Lake Association. Preceding him in death are his parents; his step-mother, Meriam Marr and an infant brother, David Marr. He is survived by his wife Janet; two sons, Jeremy Marr of Buda, TX and Jared Marr; two daughters and sons-in-law, Ellen and Sam Northey of Circle Pines and Anna and Gary Burczek of Hutchinson; ten grandchildren; one brother, Douglas Rubey of Loves Park, IL; sister and brother-in-law, Marlene and David Mahlke of Huntley, IL; sister-in-law, Kathy Rubey of Rockford, IL; and many nieces and nephews. A Memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 10 at the Crosslake Lutheran Church with full military honors given by the Crosslake Legion Post. Burial will be at the Minnesota State Veteran Cemetery in Little Falls. A visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday. Memorials may be given to the Crosslake Lutheran Church or the Crosslake American Legion. Arrangements are with the Koop Funeral Home in Crosby.
