Albert LeRoy Hanson, Sr. Obit

ALBERT LeROY HANSON, SR., 86, of Memphis, TN died Aug. 19, 2022. He was born in Crosby on Aug. 26, 1935 to Louise (Woolett) and Albert D. Hanson. He graduated from Crosby-Ironton High School in 1953. He went on to become a First Lieutenant in the U.S. Air Force as a pilot. He married Jessie Merle Lewelling on Dec. 18, 1955. He married Evelyn “Ann” Garrison Burt on April 12, 1992. He was recruited by Frick-Gallagher Manufacturing as a salesman for government contracts. He started his own construction company. After he retired, he drove a bus for Shelby County Schools and was a volunteer for Shelby County Sheriff’s Department EMS. He was proficient on both piano and guitar. He loved traveling and RV’ing. He enjoyed competition barbecueing, was involved in Masons, Scottish Rite and Shriners, Memphis Gunslingers “single action shooting society,” a life member of the VFW Post 9168 and a charter member of Redeemer Evangelical Church. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Jessie Merle Hanson, his parents, Louise and Albert Hanson, brother-in-law Ron Halberg, half-siblings and stepmother along with many aunts and uncles. He is survived by his wife, Ann, sister Annie Halberg, children and spouses Diania Hanson, Bert and Michelle Hanson, Kelli and Rusty Morgan, Tami and Mike Campbell and Denny and Andrea Burt; 13 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren; half-sbilings, many nieces and nephews and friends. Services have been held.
