Richard Philip Pomeroy Obit

RICHARD PHILIP POMEROY, 89, died Nov. 19, 2022. He was born in Ironton on July 10, 1933. He began his life journey marrying his high school sweetheart and love of his life, Sally, in 1953. He was a graduate of Crosby-Ironton High School, class of 1951. He was a loving husband, grandfather and great-grandfather who always had a positive outlook and a smile on his face. He served in the Navy from 1952 to 1956. He was an outstanding high school athlete playing three sports, continuing with basketball while serving. He was a teacher and coach at Rush City and Anoka, retiring in 1991. He will be remembered for his kind heart, outstanding integrity and character, always willing to support and mentor those around him. He is preceded in death by his parents, Philip and Clarice Pomeroy, sister Carol Patricelli, and great granddaughter. He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Sally, brother Robert Pomeroy, children and spouses: Deborah and Ernest Johnson, Michael and Michelle Pomeroy, Cindy and Ross Redman;  seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Services have been held.
