Florence A. Makousky Obit

FLORENCE A. MAKOUSKY, 80, Goshen, IN died Sunday, Jan. 8, 2023 at her home.  She was born Sept. 16, 1942 in Brainerd to Harold C. and Florence A. (O’Toole) Chamberlin.  On Feb. 23, 1963 in Brainerd, she married Patrick Joseph Makousky, Sr. and he died Nov. 21, 2017. She was a nurse at the Elkhart, IN County Jail for 19 years.  She was a homemaker and a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church.  She enjoyed reading, quilting, sewing, knitting and making dolls.  She also enjoyed raising dogs and going fishing. Preceding her in death are her parents, husband, Patrick, siblings, Mary Beth Nelson, Dorothy Jones and Harold Chamberlin. Surviving are children and spouses: Carol Diaz, New Paris, IN;  Patrick Makousky, Jr., Golden, CO; Michael and Deanna  Makousky, New Castle, WY; Jennifer Makousky-Garcia, Middlebury, IN Laura and Trevor Kercher, Goshen, IN; 21 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; siblings and spouses: Larry and Linda Chamberlin, Riverton;  Bernard and Patty  Chamberlin, Aitkin; Helen  and Gary Petersen, Brainerd; Earl and Barney  Chamberlin, Virginia;  Martha and John Cloutier, Rogers; Edward and Dawn Chamberlin, Goshen, IN; Robert Chamberlin, Trommald; Melissa and Randy Adair, Brainerd and Margaret and Thomas Schrader, Brainerd. Visitation will be 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 12 at Rieth Rohrer Ehret Funeral Home, 311 South Main Street, Goshen, IN.  The funeral service will be 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 13 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 417 South Main Street, Goshen, IN.  Father Royce Gregerson will officiate.  Burial at Oakridge Cemetery will be at a later date.  Memorial donations may be directed to the Center for Healing and Hope, P.O.
