James "Jim" M. Engle Obit

JAMES "LITTLE JIMMY" M. ENGLE, 78, of Outing, died Sunday, May 7, 2023 at Mother of Mercy Care Center in Albany. He was born March 26, 1945 in Minneapolis to Martin and Shirley (Kleppe) Engle. He grew up in Richfield, graduating from Richfield High School with the class of 1963. He moved to Annandale and Mound while his kids were in school, and for the past 20 years has resided in Outing. He started out working at Ostrom Sporting Goods in Minneapolis and at the Burnsville Sport Center, before starting his own company, Westside Yamaha, in Navarre. He was then self-employed in construction doing remodel projects and as an antiques restorer and dealer. He had one of the most extensive collections of whale oil and kerosine early American lighting. He was a member of the Masonic Order. He enjoyed fly fishing, camping, and refinishing and restoring antiques.  He will be remembered for his great sense of humor, his quick wit and ability to tell a good story. He was preceded in death by his parents and many aunts and uncles. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law Carrie and Bill Sjoblom of St. Cloud; son and daughter-in-law, Tim and Michelle Engle of Annandale; four grandchildren; sister, Judy Kerr. Services have been held.
