Thomas Paul Doshan Obit

THOMAS PAUL DOSHAN was born to Carole and Daniel Doshan on March 11, 1943 in Crosby. He died July 25, 2023.
Upon graduation from Crosby-Ironton High School in 1961, he moved to Minneapolis where he attended the University of Minnesota and graduated with B.A. and M.A. degrees in Psychology. He later earned his PhD at the University of Iowa. He devoted his life to working with handicapped children and adults and later with those suffering from severe dementia and Alzheimer’s. Ironically, it was Alzheimer’s that took him little by little the past ten years.
He married Diana Myrland in January 1969. He then married Patti Anderson in December 1996. They lived in Minnetonka and made many friends.
He loved basketball and golf with a passion - both as a participant and spectator. He played basketball with friends well into his 60s and golfed with his brothers until the disease would not allow him to continue. Throughout life, he enjoyed canoe trips to the Boundary Waters, river-rafting and overseas travel. Where there was a lake, he held a fishing rod in his hand.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife Patti, stepdaughters and spouse Emily Anderson and Libby and Peter Westman; sisters and brother-in-law Susan  and Dale Froehlich and Sally Doshan; brothers and sisters in law Michael and Mary Doshan, Daniel Doshan and Cheryl Goulet and Bradley Doshan.
A small family gathering to celebrate his life will take place at a later date.
Memorials may be given directly to the Alzheimer’s Association in his name.
