Lana Pommer-Helmke Obit

LANA POMMER-HELMKE, 82, of St. Louis Park, died Nov. 10, 2023, following a bout with pancreatic cancer.
She was born June 13, 1941 in South Dakota. She attended 12 years of school in Castlewood, SD and also attended the Nettleton School of Business and Augustana College in Sioux Falls, SD.
She and her husband were married in 1985 and  relished spending time with friends and family at their Bay Lake cabin and also enjoyed many wonderful trips together. She resided in the Twin Cities since 1966, working in real estate, advertising, insurance, banking, venture capital and 21 years in administration for the University   of Minnesota Physicians and a long-time member of Business and Professional Women. She enjoyed travel, the arts, nature, volunteering, social media and working out. Lana was vivacious, kind, fun-loving, and generous. She will be greatly missed.
She is preceded in death by husband Ronald; parents Merle and Mary (Hoschied) Pommer; stepmother Freda Siverts Pommer and a nephew.
She is survived by brother and sister-in-law James Brooks and Kathy Pommer; nephew, grandniece and grandnephews; stepchildren and spouses Bruce and Kathy Helmke, Brent and Kathryn Helmke, and Jill and Joe Tricola; five grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren and many relatives and friends.
A Celebration of Life Service was held. Interment is in Castlewood, SD.
Memorials are preferred to Westwood Lutheran Church, First Presbyterian Church or donor's choice.
