Lenore C. McBroom Obit

LENORE C. McBROOM, 90, died Sunday, Nov. 26, 2023 at Golden Horizons of Crosslake. She was born on Jan. 29, 1933 in Bradford Township to Olof and Esther (Lundeen) Peterson. She graduated from Cambridge High School in 1950. She trained to be a Key Punch Operator and worked for the Green Giant Corporation in Le Sueur. On April 25, 1952, she was married to Chester McBroom at her childhood church, Long Lake Lutheran, in Bradford Township. While raising a family, she also worked as a school bus driver and then as a kitchen cook for the Princeton School District until her retirement. She and her husband moved to Deerwood in 1994. Her life was spent in service to her Lord, family and friends. She was a devoted member of Salem Lutheran Church, and enjoyed helping with church activities, singing in the choir, cooking and baking her special treats. Lenore also loved gardening, knitting, fishing at their home on Agate Lake, and spending time with her family and friends. Lenore is survived by three sons, Larry (Jo) McBroom of Milaca, Daniel (Meredith) McBroom of Mazeppa, and Steven (Kelly) McBroom of Zimmerman; two daughters, Sandra (Jeff) Green of Park Rapids, and Lois (Mary Harder) McBroom of Brainerd; one son-in-law, Steve Deglmann of Princeton; one daughter-in-law,  Kathy McBroom of Albertville; 21 grandchildren, numerous great- grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. Preceding Lenore in death are her parents; her husband, Chester; one granddaughter; one son, Gregory McBroom; one daughter, Linda Deglmann; one brother, Ellery Peterson and two sisters, Lois and Esther Peterson. A Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 15 at Salem Lutheran Church in Deerwood. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery in Princeton. Arrangements are with the Koop Funeral Home in Crosby.
