Mary Wood Severson Obit

MARY WOOD SEVERSON, 97, of Crosby and formerly of St. Paul, passed away on May 21, 2024 at Heartwood Senior Living in Crosby.  She was born in Eau Claire, WI on April 1, 1927 to Alois and Dorotha (Wadby) Stussy. She graduated from Mundelein College in Chicago, IL.  She was a concert pianist on WGN Radio in Chicago, IL, retiring to Deerwood in 1989.  She was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Crosby and was very active at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Deerwood with the Altar and Rosary Society. Preceding her in death were her parents and her husband, Walter O. Severson. She is survived by four sons, Dr. Paul (Theresa) Severson of Deerwood,   John (Teri) Severson of Deerwood, Philip Severson of Shakopee and Matthew Severson of Burnsville; two daughters, Sarah (Sam) Shannon of Delray Beach, FL and Martha Severson of New Brighton; 15 grandchildren, 55 great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Friday, May 31 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Crosby.  A visitation and rosary will be held on Friday at 10 a.m. at the church.  Burial will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, June 1 at the Forest Hill Cemetery in Eau Claire, WI.   Arrangements are with the Koop Funeral Home in Crosby.
